The Directorate of Museums, Assam is always striving to do meaningful collaborative events with various organisations and individuals and accordingly took up various events and exhibition as follows-
The Directorate of Museums hosted an art exhibition and documentary screening of 6 Italian artists at Assam State Museum, Guwahati from 7th to 15th March, 2017. The theme of the exhibition was "Good Horn, Good Brakes, Good Luck II". And presents the following works-
It is a novel method with multi-disciplinary approach; the works are truly an avant-garde which addresses diverse issue of culture, economy, industry, tourism, landscape and environment.
The Directorate of Museums, Cultural Affairs Department, Govt. of Assam in collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA), Govt. of India, New Delhi and supported by ICCROM (International Centre for the study of conservation and restoration of Cultural Property) had launched the RE-ORG Assam on 29th February, 2016 at 12 noon by Sri V.B. Pyarelal, IAS, Addl. Chief Secretary, Panchayat & Rural Development, Govt. of Assam as its Chief Guest and Sri Preetom Saikia, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary to the Govt. of Assam, Cultural Affairs Department presided over the inaugural function. The workshop continued up to 11th March, 2016 and was a cumulative joint effort of IGNCA, New Delhi and Cultural Affairs Department, Govt. of Assam under the guidance of Sri Preetom Saikia, Commissioner & Secretary. The key resource persons were Mr Gael De Guichen, Advisor to the Director General, ICCROM, Ms Laura Tapini from Greece, Ms Sakura Tohma from Japan and Mr Achal Pandya, Head (Conservation) IGNCA and 15 professionals in the field of Museum, Archaeology, Archives and representative of Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra participated.
